sharing a notebook with your daughter

on the eve of her 8th birthday she had a (tbh reasonable) crashout about the possibility of puberty starting the very next day because she read that it could be from ages 8-14. i found a cute notebook and wrote her a long note, left it on her bed, and told her she could write me any questions she ever had and leave the notebook on my bed and i would always answer. it goes back and forth between us every few weeks now, and she asks all sorts of questions and tells me about things she’s nervous about, and i do my best to remind her that it’ll all be ok.
